Tue., Apr. 11 | 02:19 PM - Woodgrove High School senior Camryn Fagan has committed to the University of Rochester in New York to continue her academic and basketball career. Fagan was a four-year varsity player and two-time captain for the Wolverines.
Mon., Mar. 20 | 09:39 AM - Loudoun Valley (Group 4A), Tuscarora (5A) and Briar Woods (5A) high schools each rank among the top five in the Virginia High School League Wells Fargo Cup Standings following the conclusion of the varsity winter sports season. The Wells Fargo Cup is awarded to the school in each group classification that has achieved the best overall record in VHSL state-level competition in 27 sports.
Wed., Mar. 1 | 04:09 PM - Loudoun Valley High School junior Jordan Miller is the Player of the Year on the 4A West All-Region boys' basketball team. Loudoun County's Natalie Villaflor and Emily Miller, Champe's Dom Fragala, Heritage's Zach Garrett and Freedom's Jaelyn Bates were each selected on the boys' or girls' first team.
Thu., Feb. 23 | 07:45 AM - The Riverside Rams won the girls' team championship Feb. 18 at the Virginia High School League Group 3A state swim meet in Richmond. Briar Woods earned runner-up honors in Group 5A boys and girls, and Rock Ridge girls placed second at the Group 4A meet.
Mon., Feb. 20 | 11:45 AM - Riverside High School won the girls' team championship at the Virginia High School League Group 3A State Swimming Championships on Saturday in Richmond. Several Loudoun student-athletes won individual swimming, wrestling and gymnastics championships at the state level.
Thu., Feb. 16 | 09:00 AM - The Rock Ridge Phoenix continued their impressive season with a first-place finish in the girls' team standings at the 4A West Region Swim Championships, contested Feb. 11 at James Madison University in Harrisonburg. Rock Ridge's girls' team racked up a meet-best 322 points to add a regional title to their Conference 21-East meet championship.
Wed., Feb. 15 | 09:15 AM - The match-ups are set for the Conference 21-East and Conference 22 boys' and girls' basketball tournament championship games. Freedom (boys and girls), Loudoun County (girls) and Loudoun Valley (boys) will host championship games Thursday night. Woodgrove's girls will play for the Conference 21-West girls' championship Wednesday at Millbrook.
Fri., Feb. 10 | 09:05 AM - The varsity basketball postseason tips off Friday night as tournament play begins in Conference 21-East, Conference 21-West and Conference 28. Dominion, Loudoun Valley, Park View, Riverside, Rock Ridge and Woodgrove high schools will host first-round games.
Thu., Feb. 9 | 10:52 AM - Freedom High School junior Sydney Wrighte placed first in all four individual events at the 5A North Region State Qualifier Gymnastics Meet to help the Eagles qualify as a team for the VHSL State Gymnastics Meet. Wrighte topped the all-around standings with an overall score of 39.25 at the qualifier meet, contested Feb. 8 at Park View High School in Sterling.
Sun., Feb. 5 | 11:20 AM - Varsity wrestling teams from all 15 Loudoun County public high schools competed Saturday in one of five conference tournaments. The Broad Run Spartans won the Conference 14 team title and the Rock Ridge Phoenix claimed the Conference 21-East team crown.
Wed., Feb. 1 | 12:30 PM - It isn't often that the word "upset" can be applied to a gymnastics meet, but that word tells the story of the Conference 21-West gymnastics championship meet Jan. 30 at Freedom High School in South Riding. The Woodgrove Wolverines edged their hosts, the defending state champion and two-time regional champ Eagles, by less than a single point - 0.825, to be exact - to claim this year's team title for the six-school conference.
Fri., Jan. 27 | 01:08 PM - Heritage outlasted Loudoun Valley 63-60 in varsity boys' basketball Thursday night to hand the Vikings their first loss of the season. The Pride also prevailed against the Vikings in varsity girls' basketball. In more basketball action, Camryn Fagan, Sophia Coates and Jordan Wick each scored in double figures to lead Woodgrove's girls past Dominion.
Tue., Jan. 17 | 09:30 AM - The Potomac Elite 17 team outlasted 11 other teams to strike gold at the MLK Challenge volleyball tournament, contested Jan. 14-15 in Jessup, Md. Potomac Elite's roster includes Woodgrove High School students Meghen Cleary and Mable Henry.
