Local dentist teaches bone grafting techniques

By S_Ecoe

Dr. Brenton W. Burger teaches Area Dentists about Bone Grafting Techniques for Dental Implants

On November 16th, Dr. Burger provided a clinical hands-on course to 8 general dentists on various techniques on bone grafting sockets after teeth are extracted. Once a tooth is extracted, the normal process of healing is bone loss. However, this process of bone loss can be prevented by grafting the socket immediately after a tooth is extracted.

Dr. Burger showed how teeth can be extracted with minimal tissue trauma and to graft the socket to enhance wound healing and to prevent bone loss. All of the patients that participated in the course will return in 5 months to receive a dental implant to replace the missing teeth.

Dr. Burger has placed over 3000 implants with this technique and has found that it not only improves the longevity of dental implants but also increases the success to almost 100%. Dr. Burger practices oral/maxillofacial and dental implant surgery in Sterling and Centreville, VA. He is dedicated to provide the highest quality of patient care and strives to deliver the best possible experience for each and every one of his patients. He can be reached at 703-444-2206 or at dullesoms.com.
