Wow 'em in Woodlea
If Thanksgiving brings a bevy of family members trekking through your family room, kitchen and dining room, then why not wow 'em with this new home?
In the cozy Woodlea neighborhood of Leesburg, this home sits snug on a corner lot. The home's layout upon entering will throw you a curveball. The cathedral ceiling in the formal living room and foyer give the entryway an open, almost studio-like feel. The formal living room has two-story windows with wood paneling detail in between the two sets of windows. The stairs start in the formal living room and lead to the catwalk on the second floor.
Triple-crown molding and hardwood flooring continue in the adjoining dining room that is to the right of the front door. Columns on either side of the dining room give a hint of the grandeur inside the room, which is complete with wainscoting and impressive window dressings that are included with the home.
At the rear of the home, and visible from the entrance, is the home office. With an exquisitely impressive layout, the home office includes a bay window, plenty of upgraded molding, a ceiling fan and built-in bookcases on either side of a marble double-sided gas fireplace.
The other side of the fireplace warms the family room at the back of the home. The family room is sizable with windows of the deck and backyard.
The bordering kitchen is something to behold. It has a butler's pantry, a secretary's desk and a center island with a five-burner cooktop and enough space for bar stools. Stainless steel appliances, green Corian counters and 42-inch cherry cabinets warm up the area. A pantry in the corner and a door to the mudroom, which has a utility sink and plenty of storage, complete the kitchen area.
Recessed lighting, a wall of windows and comfortable brown carpeting complete the lower level, which also features a walk-out to the backyard. A large, full bathroom opens from the recreational room and leads through to a bedroom that could be used as an au pair or in-law suite.
Upstairs, three bedrooms off the main hallway each have walk-in closets. They share a full hallway bathroom, which has a double vanity.
The master suite takes up the entirety of the far end of the house. The bedroom has a wall of windows, a tray ceiling and a large master bathroom. Inside the bathroom is a dual vanity with room for a cosmetic counter. White tile continues from the floor to the soak tub, which neighbors a stand-up shower. A closet toilet has a linen closet inside. The walk-in master closet also is reached through the bathroom.
Several of the most remarkable rooms in this home – the dining room, formal living room, family room and recreational room – are ideal for extended family members who eat, watch football and doze off. So invite 'em over.
