The Round Hill Arts Center invites all local artists to submit work for its open exhibition of small works for the summer. Proceeds from the show support programming at Round Hill Arts Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting fine art and traditional crafts in Loudoun County.

This exhibit is open to all professional, amateur and high school/college student artists living within a one-hour drive of Round Hill. Artists must have the ability to hand deliver and pick up their work by the specified deadlines. All entries must have been completed within the last two years. Both professional artists and talented amateurs/students are encouraged to enter.

Work must be a maximum size of 12-by-12-inches, framed and ready to hang (no saw-tooth hangers).

Volunteers for studio tour: The Western Loudoun Artists Studio Tour takes place Saturday and Sunday, June 21-22. Hope Hanes explains that the Round Hill Arts Center will be hosting three guest artists that weekend, and will also have demonstrations and children's activities downstairs, upstairs and outside. The tour is June 21-22 -- 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Anyone who is willing to come help out with children's activities or in the gallery, should contact Hope. The more folks who volunteer, the shorter the shifts will be. This gig includes free drinks and pizza (or some sort of lunch-type food). Of course, kids would be very welcome to come and participate and help out, too. Likewise, anyone who would prefer to plan an activity or do the prep work rather than be here actually "doing it," that would be great, too. Please contact Hope at hopus1@aol.com or call the arts center at 540-338-5050.

Bluemont Fair: The Bluemont Fair takes place Sept. 20-21. Jen Stone reports that the Bluemont Children’s Fair also needs volunteers. It will take 64 volunteers to make this fair happen, many of them mothers who work alongside their children in the fishing game, butterfly dance wheel or face painting. The schedule will be set up by August but now is the time to save the date if you are interested. The Bluemont Fair, Children’s Fair is always the third weekend in September This year, that's Sept 20-21. Just two-hour time slots make a world of difference for this super fun country fair.
