Winning posters and the golf tournament

By Marge Kraft

Winning posters: The Purcellville Town Council, Tree and Beautification Commission and staff would like to congratulate Josh Longosky and Sarah Taylor, both of Blue Ridge Middle School, who were the poster contest winners for this year's Arbor Day celebration. Each student received a $25 gift certificate to Abernethy and Spencer Nursery in Lincoln. For more info, contact the town office at 540-751-2333.

Tee time: It's time to "tee it up" at the second annual Town of Purcellville Golf Tournament to be held on June 5 (rain date is June 9), at the Loudoun Golf and Country Club. This year's proceeds will go entirely to the Upper Loudoun Little League which affects almost 900 boys and girls. This event will bring many visitors to the town and to local businesses.

Download a registration form from the Web site at www.purcellvilleva.gov. Space is limited to 120 golfers. Registration closes May 30.

In order to make this a success, we need your help. If you are a business or know of a business that can help sponsor this event -- either by a donation of an item for the auction or a sponsorship -- please contact Cheryl Herman at cherman@purcellvilleva.gov or at the number listed above.
