Neighborhood watch holds meeting on Internet safety
The Broadlands Neighborhood Watch committee will hold a meeting for community residents May 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the nature center.

Pool lanes
The county's Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is soliciting requests from groups for long-term use of competition pool lanes at the Claude Moore Recreation Center in Sterling.

The deadline for applications is May 19 at 5:30 p.m.
Summer kickoff
Ashburn Farm hosts the eighth annual summer kickoff party May 24, 4 to 9:30 p.m. at Windmill Park.
This year marks the community's 20th anniversary, and several restaurants, wineries and vendors will be selling food and beverages.
A concert begins around 5 p.m., and the event features a fireworks show.
There is limited parking along Windmill Drive. A shuttle service will be provided from 5 to 10 p.m. from Breezyhill Pool to Windmill Park and back.
At the event, items will be collected for the Loudoun County Animal Shelter.
As always, proceeds from the event will be donated to local charities.

Get Caught Reading
May is national Get Caught Reading month. Take pictures with family or friends reading your favorite book and bring the digital or traditional photos to the Sterling Library, 120 Enterprise St. in Sterling.
