Foster and Kunigas updates, an anniversary and a council meeting

By Betty Shiflett

Foster “unquaked”: We are grateful to hear that Michelle Foster was not at the site of the devastating earthquake in China last week. She was in Beijing where the shock was felt, but no damage was done. Thank goodness.

Kunigas coming home: More good news is that Florence Kunigas will be coming home to Sommerstime Farm in the near future. Florence, 97, has been in rehab since she fractured a hip several months ago. She's one spunky lady. We should have a welcome-home party.

Anniversary: Anniversary greetings next Tuesday to Barbara and Murray Rose. These two were married May 27, 1944. Congratulations, and we wish you many more.

Council meeting: Don't forget the Paeonian Springs Council meeting tomorrow night. Look for the location on the post office bulletin board or in your very own e-mail. All are invited to attend.

Thought for the Day: "How come it takes so little time for a child who is afraid of the dark to become a teenager who wants to stay out all night?"
