Master Singers auditions: The Master Singers of Virginia are still auditioning all voice types for its upcoming 2008-09 season. Under the direction of Dr. Erik Reid Jones, the Master Singers have been lauded as the premier a cappella choral ensemble in Northern Virginia, concentrating on 20th and 21st century choral music. They perform three major concert programs each season as well as other engagements throughout Northern Virginia and the greater Washington, D.C. area.

The concert series scheduled to be performed this season includes Benjamin Britten's "A Boy Was Born"; Francis Poulenc's "Mass in G Major"; William Byrd's "Mass for Five Voices"; Shakespeare songs by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Frank Martin and Jaakko Mantyjarvi; and more. For more information, visit www.msva.org. To schedule an audition, call Mary Ellen Bufalo, president, at 703-729-5269 or Meomusic@aol.com.
