County accepting applications for cooling help

The Loudoun County Department of Family Services is considering requests from residents in need of help cooling their homes.

Cooling Assistance applications are being accepted through Aug. 15. The money may be used to purchase or repair cooling equipment, pay utility bills or pay a security deposit to secure a utility.

Applications are available at the Department of Family Services, 102 Heritage Way N.E., Suite 103, Leesburg.

Board meeting

The Board of Supervisors' next business meeting is July 1. The public can address supervisors June 30 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the board room of the Loudoun County Government Center, 1 Harrison St. S.E., Leesburg.

Teen filmmakers

Loudoun's public library system is accepting entries for its third annual teen film-making competition. This year's theme is "M is for Mystery."

Films should be no more than 10 minutes in length and should be submitted by Aug. 2 at any local library branch.
