Man charged with counterfeiting money to buy motorcycle

A 25-year-old Leesburg man has been charged with counterfeiting hundred-dollar bills and then using them to buy a motorcycle, Loudoun County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kraig Troxell said.

Faris Nassar was charged with two counts of counterfeiting and one count of fraud by false pretenses. Nassar allegedly used the counterfeit money to purchase a motorcycle from craigslist.com.

The seller received 23 hundred-dollar bills and believed they were counterfeit. The seller then contacted the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office searched a home in the 43500 block of Emerald Dunes Place in the River Creek community June 18. Items seized from the home included money, computers, printers and a motorcycle.

Nassar was taken into custody. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
