County needs people to work at polls on Election Day

The Loudoun County Electoral Board needs election officers to help with the record number of voters expected to take part in the presidential election on Nov. 4.

Workers are required to be at the polls in Loudoun at 5 a.m. on Election Day and need to stay until the polls close and the ballots are counted, usually between 8:30 and 9 p.m. In addition, workers will need to attend one of several available training sessions during the month of October.

Election officers are paid $100 for their work on Election Day and $20 for the training session.

Any person registered to vote in Virginia is eligible.

The Electoral Board also is looking for high school students age 14 and older to serve as volunteer election pages. These students will serve as greeters and perform other tasks to help out at the precinct.
