Homeownership 101

The Loudoun County Department of Family Services will hold its next "Intro to Homeownership" class July 7 and July 9, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Cascades Library, 21030 Whitfield Place, Sterling.

The county provides free home-buyer education workshops to assist potential first-time home buyers in understanding the process. The six-hour workshop covers topics including budgeting, credit, working with Realtors, the mortgage process and what to expect at settlement.

The workshops are held at various locations several times throughout the year over a two-evening time period. Attendance at both sessions is required. The class size for each workshop is limited, so early registration is advised. Participants must register by contacting Chris Vogel of the Department of Family Services at 703-777-0353. You may also contact Vogel if you require any type of reasonable accommodation as the result of physical, sensory or mental disability. Three days' notice is requested.
