Coach vacancies
Stone Bridge High School in Ashburn has the following coaching openings for the 2008-09 school year -- assistant cross country, head softball, head and assistant varsity girls' soccer, head boys' tennis, assistant and JV wrestling.

Summer camps

State softball tourney
The Virginia Little League Girls Softball State Championship is coming to Loudoun County in July 2009, according to LaMott Smith, district administrator of District 16, State of Virginia Little League.
“Loudoun County has been asked by the State Little League organization to host the 2009 Majors tournament [11 & 12 year old players],” Smith said. “With the advent of our new softball league, Loudoun Girls Little League Softball, we informed the state that we would be thrilled to host the event and showcase both Loudoun County and our new league.”
The Loudoun Girls Little League Softball program will automatically place a team at the state tournament as the host league.
Runnin' and Gunnin'
Virginia Run n Gun, a competitive-level basketball team based in Sterling, finished second in the state in the U11 division of Youth Basketball of America.
Led by point guard AJ Robinson and center Wanya Allen, Run n Gun almost pulled off a victory in the championship game while competing with only six players.
By virtue of its performance in the state competition, Run n Gun has qualified for the YBOA national tournament, being held currently in Orlando, Fla.
Travel softball
The Leesburg Girls' Softball League (LGSL) plans to incorporate 10U and 12U travel teams to its girls' softball program.
The Leesburg Revolution is a travel program that will run under the umbrella of LGSL and operate independently as a Class B travel organization.

Senior Olympics
Seniors 50 and older are eligible to enter the 2008 Northern Virginia Senior Olympics to be held Sept. 20-Oct. 2.

Officials sought
The Northern Virginia Football Officials Association seeks trainees wishing to become on-field officials and clock operators for the 2008 season. The NVFOA supplies officials for youth, middle school, high school and private school football games throughout the Washington metropolitan area.
Training sessions begin in mid-June. No experience is necessary. Interested men and women 18 and older can download application forms at www.nvfoa.com, or contact Commissioner Dennis Hall at 540-837-1316 or commissioner@nvfoa.com.
