By Jeanette Gandhi

Athlete-to-Athlete: Stone Bridge High School's Athlete-to-Athlete Program will hold a basketball clinic for special needs athletes on Dec. 7, 1-2:30 p.m. Athletes of all ages and ability levels are welcome to participate in the program, which will pair special-needs athletes alongside Stone Bridge High School athletes for instruction, competition and camaraderie. The event will be held in Stone Bridge High School's main gym. The school is located on Hay Road just west of the Claiborne Parkway intersection. To register, athletes or their representatives should email Margaret King _sheselzseashells@aol.com.

Boundary changes: Here's a heads-up about some changes coming to schools in the Ashburn area. Attendance boundaries will be adjusted for Newton-Lee and Selden's Landing elementary schools, as well as Belmont Ridge Middle School and Stone Bridge High School. The school board will hold public input sessions on Jan. 12, Jan. 14, Jan. 21 and Jan. 26 for elementary and middle school boundaries in Ashburn and Leesburg. Sessions for high school boundaries will be held on Jan. 26, Jan. 28 and Jan. 29. Check back and I'll have more information as it becomes available.

Lacrosse: Due to the popularity and growth of lacrosse in Eastern Loudoun, the Eastern Loudoun lacrosse has split, leading to the formation of the Bandits Ashburn Lacrosse. Registration for the spring season began Dec. 1 and runs through Feb. 2. Boys and girls teams are forming now in the Broad Run and Stone Bridge attendance areas for these age groups: U9, U11, U13 and U15. Get more information at http://www.ashburnlacrosse.org.

Clyde's gift cards: Farmwell Station Middle School is once again selling Clyde's gift cards as a fund raiser. Cards are available in $25, $50 and $100 denominations and are good at any restaurant in the Clyde's family, not just Clyde's of Willow Creek Farm. The sale runs until Dec. 19, or until the cards are gone, so don't put off ordering. For more information, call or e-mail me and I'll put you in touch with the right people.

Vocal concerts: Don't forget these two upcoming vocal concerts, conveniently located in Ashburn. The Loudoun Chorale presents John Rutter's Gloria and other holiday carols on Dec. 6 at St. David's Episcopal Church at 7 p.m. Accompanying the chorale will be brass, organ and timpani. The program will also include selections by Benjamin Britten and Mack Wilberg. Tickets at the door are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for youth. Children aged 12 and younger are free. For more information, call 703-722-4055 or visit www.loudounchorale.org.

The Master Singers of Virginia will present its December concert, "A Rose in Winter," in Ashburn on Dec. 7. The 7 p.m. performance will be preceded by a lecture beginning at 6:15 p.m. at Our Savior's Way Lutheran Church, 43115 Waxpool Road. Advance tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students/seniors (65+). Tickets at the door are $2 more. For a complete concert schedule and to order tickets, visit www.msva.org or call 703-655-7809 for more information.
