Dogs bite two people in Sterling

Two people were bitten by dogs running loose in Sterling Aug. 6, and authorities have the dogs in custody.

Loudoun County Animal Control authorities said the bites occurred in the area of the Lost Trail Terrace subdivision and the Washington and Old Dominion Trail east of Route 28.

The dogs were described as medium to large pit bull mixes with brown and white markings.

Chief Animal Control Officer Kim Miller said the dogs were found soon after the attacks at the home of their owner, who faces charges of keeping dangerous dogs, she said.

She described the injuries as minor puncture wounds.

Authorities did not release the name of the owner.
