Flag poll: Leesburg asks public to choose its town flag

By Staff

Five finalists have been chosen from about 45 flags submitted for Leesburg's 250th anniversary flag design contest

A panel created by the town chose the top five last month from entries that came from as far away as New Mexico. Four of the top five flags were designed by a Leesburg or county resident.

An online poll opened Aug. 4 for public voting and will close Aug. 15 about 5 p.m.

The winning flag will be announced at the town's anniversary celebration Sept. 14.

Votes can be submitted online; visit Leesburgva.gov and click on the town's 250th anniversary logo on the right side of the page. Votes also can be e-mailed to flagvoting@leesburgva.gov.

The winning entry will become Leesburg's official flag.
