Grass and Stuff
A warm seasons grasses workshop will be held in Warrenton in the Payne Building at 2 Courthouse Square on Monday January 7th (tonight!) at 7PM. For farmers, warm season grasses can be valuable as an alternative to cool season varieties for hay and pasture. The advantage of warm season grasses is that they are actively growing at the height of the summer, while cool season varieties like fescue, orchard grass, and others are producing more slowly. In other news, watch this space for an upcoming announcement for vegetable gardeners and farmers in the area. A workshop is being planned, tenatively scheduled for Friday, February 1st.
