It's Babe Ruth Time

The Town of Purcellville will be jumpin' this week, especially at 250 Nursery Ave., where Fireman's Field is located.

This "green baseball catherdal" will host the Babe Ruth 13U World Series, which will start Friday and continue through Aug. 24.

We're planning a special sports cover, focusing on the host team, in Wednesday's print edition of the Times-Mirror.

It's an eye-popper.

That's all I'll say for now.

Check our Web site (www.LoudounTimes.com) for daily scores, starting on Friday.

Let's hope any much-needed rain comes during those times the field is dark. A whole lot of wet stuff would severely hamper the tournament schedule.

Check out a game or two. It promises to be one heck of the tournament as teams from all across the U.S. converge on Purcellville.
